New Stone Circle

\'nü 'stōn 'sər-kəl\ noun

1. Our way to share the art that changes us.

2. A collection of literary and visual art based in Chicago, IL.

Welcome to the website of New Stone Circle. We are currently accepting submissions in the areas of fiction, poetry and visual art for publication in our first issue.

Send us your work.

Our website is live, but we are far from the printing press. We will update this page from time to time with our progress.

UPDATE:

Unfortunate news on the non-profit status. I got to the end of my last piece of paperwork only to find out there is a $300 filing fee. While non-profit would be nice, it is not worth that much to us right now.

I was depressed for about five minutes, but I got over it. I prefer to see the bright side of this setback. Now I can check that off of my list and move on. Now I can worry about advertising and submissions and paying for things. Good on me.

A NOTE FROM CHRIS:

So. Apparently if you're really lonely and want people to send you mail, all you have to do is pretend you're starting a literary magazine and call yourself the "poetry editor". Yes, we got our first submission and it was pretty decently ok (just kidding mom, it was great! :) ) So, we're all uber excited here at NSC and we hope you keep our mailbox full. It makes us think people like us!

*To anyone lacking a sense of humor: We are indeed a real publication, and our first submission was not from Chris's mom.

I was so excited to see that we got our first letter addressed to New Stone Circle. Unfortunately, it was just from the government, but maybe we can publish it anyway. Anyone know the legality of that? Send us your submissions so we don't have to get sued by the Federal Government.
